Putsborough is on the south side of Woolacombe and being farther away from the hotels shops and cafes means that the beach is usually quieter than neighbouring beaches. The golden long sweeping sands are renowned for their cleanliness and beauty.

Putsborough Sands is the name given to the southern part of Woolacombe Sands. It is a sandy beach with some rock pools, protected by Baggy Point from the prevailing southwesterly winds. The beach is privately owned and the car park is reached by a narrow road with passing places.

The zoning system means that you only have to have your dog on its lead for the first five minutes of your walk, after which point you have 3.5 miles of free-run sand!

Dogs are allowed everywhere on Putsborough, except for the far left of the beach from Easter until November 1. A ban is also in place for dogs on Combe Martin beach between May 1 and September 30, while Croyde allows dogs between October 1 and April 30.

Woolacombe has a slightly larger choice, with the Red Barn getting the lion’s share of trade. No chef’s surprises, pretty average menus, but dependable as before. Ilfracombe has some stunning places to eat in the evenings, but do some research on here, there is also some dross!

Both the caravan site at Putsborough Sands and at The Manor Farm Site are TOURING CARAVAN PARKS only and do not accommodate tents, or Motorhomes / Camper vans………….. However……… Motor homes and campervans are able to stay overnight on our hard standing area at the top of our car park.
