What is hardening Leliana?
Hardened refers to optional personality changes for Alistair (after the Alistair’s Family quest) and Leliana (after the Leliana’s Past quest) in Dragon Age Origins. The change affects future character dialogue, the overall attitude of the companions, and the plot line.
Can you romance Leliana and Alistair?
When you have Alistair in love with you, romance Leliana (before doing her quest) until her jealousy dialogue triggers. Choose her then go talk to Alistair. Alistair’s jealousy dialogue also triggers, choose him. Now your relationship with Leliana will have ended.

Of what I know, there is no cheat to harden Alistair. A good way to get hom to like you though is to have sexual intercourse with Zevran. If you do it with Leliana, well, he realizes you’re bisexual and will not add as much. If you have sex with Zevran a couple times, eventually Alistair will bring it up.
Is softened or hardened Leliana better?
If the player successfully softened her, she will commit to being more than what the Divine made her. If she is hardened, she will express the belief that ruthlessness gets the job done, and she is needed as the Divine made her.

If Alistair becomes king and the Warden does not marry him as a female human noble but is in a romance with him, Alistair can be persuaded into keeping the Warden as his mistress, even if he is to marry Anora.
Is there a way for Alistair to live without Loghain?
This is the only way that both Alistair and Loghain can live without Alistair being exiled. Leliana will no longer object to some of the morally questionable choices made by the Warden.
